8th Nicaraguan Biotechnology Conference 2016
The Molecular Biology Center (CBM) of the University of Central America (UCA) is pleased to announce the VIII Nicaraguan Biotechnology Conference to be held on May 19th and 20th, 2016, in Nicaragua in partnership with scholars, scientists and authorities from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) and New England Biolabs (NEB). The focus of this year’s Conference is “Central American Biodiversity and Genomics”.
The CBM-UCA has organized these biotechnology conferences with the participation of the international scientific community every two years beginning in 2002, to promote science education and research as a way of fostering better economic and social conditions in Central America. These conferences have become the most important participative scientific event in Nicaragua. Our principal goal is to promote the development and use of biotechnology innovation in Nicaragua and surrounding countries. These conferences provide an ideal opportunity for strengthening relationships between the academic, governmental, non-governmental and private industry sectors; and for training human resources in biotechnology to develop solutions to current problems facing the region.
We invite university students to participate (biology and related fields) with a special interest in these topics. The Conference will be held at Convention Center of "Hotel Granada" . All the expenses regarding to the Conference will be assumed by UCA, including meals, transportation and accommodation.
